Back around in August of 2023 as a "burnt out" tech I suddenly got the urge to doodle as a way to keep calm and relax. Previously I had done 3d graphics and CGI artwork as a hobby but that was decades ago and the technology landscape has dramatically changed. While I have been meaning to get back into 3d, I've been reluctant as it's very draining and basically not as fun!
Creating 2d images (well doodles) for me was far more relaxing and more importantly fun!
It's hard to explain but that process of traditional pen and paper is very "immediate" for me, the ideas bouncing around can be more freely expressed and way more easily than having to fire up a computer and then losing momentum.
Once I've captured that "raw" idea I really enjoy the process of then vectorising that image on a computer. It seems vector art is becoming popular again, and it kind of makes sense given that vectors scale perfectly across any resolution.
watthedoodle.com was born as a way for me to share my doodles and tech stuff on my tiny island on the internet.
If you like my work and would like to help support me, I'd more than welcome a coffee!
